Hello! My name is Fazal, I just turned 18 years old and I am from the Maldives, though I was born here in Malaysia. I can speak two languages, but English is the one I am most fluent in. I would love to be able to represent myself as an artist and be recognised in the future. I grew up completely here in Malaysia, specifically the heart of the city, Kuala Lumpur. I absolutely love the bustling city life but at the end of the day my hobbies involve being inside. Which is playing video games and drawing. Drawing being the most important thing to me. I love being able to think of an idea and almost bring it to life just with a few materials. Whether traditional or digital. I hope to because a concept artist or even an animator within the entertainment industry. :D
I still feel very inexperienced within the design field and I am very excited to learn even more throughout my few years at Taylor's University. Even in just my Foundation year alone I learned so much as an artist and just a person, so I am very excited for what is coming here at Taylor's. I would hope to finish this course and leave a mark for sure ;)
Some facts about me:
So far my experience with interactive design has been relatively limited. But I think I have a simple enough of a grasp, especially in HTML. I took IGCSE ICT during school and we had to learn how to design websites in Adobe Dreamweaver. Though it's been two and a half years since I had to do them frequently, I am hoping some of my knowledge from then is still within me somewhere and will make this module a little less complicated than what I have been anticipating.
Other than this little experience from my years in school, I am really new to this type of subject, considering I am very heavily into design and arts, this is a new form of art that I personally haven't recognised. In general I am very new to this type of stuff but I am hoping my general design knowledge and understanding will help me understand and do well in this, as we will always need to make it look good which I can do (hopefully) and also function well.
My expectations for interactive design are actually quite a bit. I am expecting to learn the basics of Dreamweaver and HTML again, except this time I won't have to follow exact instructions like I did in IGCSEs (Which forced us to create really ugly websites by the way). I am also expecting to learn a little bit about understanding my wants and needs as a client while also being in the designers shoes and understanding what a client would want and how to deal with them in a more professional manner. Though this class is full of people around my age which will make communication somewhat easier. I am still looking forward to the new skills I will pick up
I am also really excited to finally have physical classes in general, it will be a really nice change of pace from the online atmosphere. Especially with a class like this, I would prefer to be in class with my lecturers to be able to troubleshoot easier. Overall I am really excited for the new experience and things I will learn from this module!
